The Getter

Don’t slow me down
I want far away from here
Skipping years
Out of reach, but still right here
Staring me down
One big round away
Far from home
I’m trying to climb out
The hole I've fallen down
I can see clearly where i'm going
To call something my own
Descending from
The peak of being young
Now i’m stuck
Down in this rut
I see the next way up
Where I belong
Far from home
I’m trying to climb out
The hole I've fallen down
I can see clearly where i'm going
To call something my own
Please slow down
Take a look around
If you heard it all before
Then why would you ignore?
It’s the only road
So enjoy the show
Far from home
I’m trying to climb out
The hole I've fallen down
I can see clearly where i'm going
To call something my own

The Audacity of Autumn
04:04
|
|||
Summer came in to ease
The thoughts I've had of getting restless
Upcoming weeks would prove
To far surpass my expectations
I met you, at first glance if I only knew
When you looked at me
I knew that I'd be missing you
If thoughts I've had prevail then I might be with you
Surrounded by fair-shaded land of south Arizona
‘Til that time i’ve nothing but to sing my blues
While in the midst of greenery of midwestern summer
Frustrating is the knowledge that if distance hadn’t stolen you
We could try us
Each mile’s a reminder of the odds that tower over us
We can reach it
Why forget you when half the time you fill my mind
When you look at me
I’ll know that all this time has been spent right
All that i could hope for is a lack of rain
A drought or i’ll anticipate the changing of seasons
The audacity of autumn to adjust the trees
So when we are apart at least we’re closer in color
These therapeutic words are not enough for me
There’s people I want in my life that I can't see
The fibers of my being say we’re meant to be
But regardless of what happens
I hope you never forget me
Cuz i wont ever forget you
No i can't ever forget you
I'd rather remember with you
If thoughts i've had prevail then i might be with you
Surrounded by fair-shaded land of south Arizona
‘Til that time i’ve nothing but to sing my blues
While in the midst of greenery of midwestern summer
All that i could hope for is a lack of rain
A drought or i’ll anticipate the changing of seasons
The audacity of autumn to adjust the trees
So when we are apart at least we’re closer in color
Closer in color

Motion Me
03:36

Westward on
Winter’s gone, or so I'm told
So long to the cold
Desert sun
Replace the shade of where I'm from
Could this be home?
No, it’s already gone
Flee the heat
For constant chill, but i'm back in green
Though, the sun remains to be seen
Patiently
Exist in darkness, damp, dreary
Gradually the sun, then finally
Motion me will rest at Sea
With all this floating I’m feeling grounded
Though, Great Plains will always keep
A part of me back home
Mother nature has offered me
A trio of surroundings to call my own
Initially my molding in The Good Life
With my kin was all I knew
Then my discovery
What i knew was incomplete
It took me down
To the Desert Sun
I found the one thing
That’s making me feel all done
Yeah
Motion me will rest at Sea
With all this floating I’m feeling grounded
Though, Great Plains will always keep
A part of me back home

Firefight

You say that I'm not good enough and
My aspirations are too far-fetched
I'm gonna have to disagree
I'm convinced this isn't me
I'll just have to set you straight
I'm not a complete failure
I'll do as i desire
We were raised to set goals and dreams
So, if kids can go fight fires
Why can't I write a song?
Holding me back is just wrong
I'm so aware it’s taken three years time
For you to finally let me start to Climb this mountain
Thus, you’d think i'd get a quicker start
Well, i'm enjoying the pace so far
If you still doubt me just remember that i’m…
I'm not a complete failure
I'll do as i desire
We were raised to set goals and dreams
So, if kids can go fight fires
Why can't I write a song?
Holding me back is just wrong
Isn't it time to turn your back away
From yourself when you think your dreams
aren't worth the chase
Listen to a voice who has only good things to say
‘Cuz if you want to
You can see that your dreams are just an inch away
I'm not a complete failure
I'll do as i desire
We were raised to set goals and dreams
So, if kids can go fight fires
Why can't I write a song?
Holding me back is just wrong

I never thought I'd see the day when it wasn’t enough
After all these years, I feel like giving it up
Time can change the way that a person feels
It’s been so long, a new locale is surreal
So, run if by land or swim if by sea
Let the breeze in the air set a path and lead
Mountains or beaches or both to this scene
Just need a change from these plains that bore me
I'm ready and waiting to move far away
For the first time in life I want to feel displaced
The desolate world - i just want a taste
I’d head east to finally see she ain't the one from my dreams
West I'd learn that fortune don't come easy
I'll soon fly across the ocean
I'd like to find more purpose without question
So, run if by land or swim if by sea
Let the breeze in the air set a path and lead
Mountains or beaches or both to this scene
Just need a change from these plains that bore me
I'm ready and waiting to move far away
For the first time in life I want to feel displaced
The desolate world - i just want a taste
Fair waters never span the journey
There's more out there than what I've seen
This place has done just fine but
I need to see through different eyes
Maroon me
Maroon me
So i'll run if by land
I’d swim if by sea
I get relief from the uncertainty
So, run if by land or swim if by sea
Let the breeze in the air set a path and lead
Mountains or beaches or both to this scene
Just need a change from these plains that bore me
I'm ready and waiting to move far away
For the first time in life I want to feel displaced
The desolate world - i just want a taste
